Okay, I got a request for my mom's greens recipe.  I won't take it with me to the grave like the rolls recipe.

Greens (Kale, Collards and Mustard)

1 ham hock or ham shank
1 tbs minced garlic
1 stick of butter
1 tsp Goya all purpose spice
1/4 cup Italian dressing
hot sauce to taste
1 tsp pepper
1 tbs dried onion
2 - 4 cups water

Put all ingredients in the pot and simmer for 20 to 30 minutes.  While they are cooking, clean the greens.  You can use one kind or you can mix them.  Grandma always mixed them.  To clean them, pull the leaves off and get rid of most of the stems. Rinse the greens after you clean them at least twice. Some greens are grown in a sand base and you don't want a pot full of grit.  Once your stock is ready, start to add the greens.  If you can't get all of them in the pot, let them cook down and add the rest.  Simmer for another hour checking frequently to make sure the fluid has not cooked away.  Any questions, call me. 614-441-3185.  Have a happy turkey day.

Okay, we are all back in and set up and I have my computer back. Yeaaaa.  Had a meeting about the floors and I won this round.  They are going to change the floors and I get to pick the color.  We are waiting til January for the holidays to be over and they said they could put us in a hotel while they do it.  It will probably be 5 days but no biggie.  I think they are slightly scared of me.  Can't wait for winter so we can drive in the snow, go up to the ski lodge and watch people ski and drink hot chocolate.  Decorate for Christmas.  My first Thanksgiving will be on November 10th and then I'm going to be alone.  Sam is coming to visit Columbus so I can relax and do nothing.  No cooking, no snoring, coughing, blowing the nose, clearing the throat.  Absolute silence and bliss.  Uploading a bunch of pictures to add online.  Hope you like them.  Will send them soon.  Take care all.  Love you.

Well, we are back in our place.  Not happy about the look but that is supposed to change soon.  If it doesn't then my rent goes into escarole.  Sam passed his kidney stone just in time to catch a horrible cold.  It sucks to get old.  You go from one thing to another.  Going to Anchorage again to get this flap in my throat cut out.  Hope it's not a repeat of when I got my tonsils out.  That was embarrassing.  Send me pictures, if you have them, of Cindy and Steve's  Ocktoberfest.  Once we get the place put back together, and if you kept pictures of how it used to look, you can compare and tell me how fucked up it is.

Tuesday, September 20, 2016

Well, my blog has become a venting sight since no one reads it but me and I am the only one who comments on it.  We are still not back in our place, I have an attorney who is working on it and I hope I don't have to spend Thanksgiving here. AAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHH.

OMFG THEY TOTALLY JACKED MY APARTMENT.  THEY PUT IN SHIT BROWN FLOORS AND CHEAP WHITE CABINETS.  IT IS SO UGLY I WANT TO DIE.  i CAN'T LIVE THERE,  I'M GOING TO GET MY OWN SHIT.

Sunday, July 31, 2016

Looks like the cabinets are on their way here, what a surprise lol.  Nothing like a newspaper article to put a fire under your butt.    However, the counter tops are another issue.  The floors are so dark and ugly I have to figure how to brighten up the apartment cause it is going to be so dark in there now.  Not good for someone suffering from depression.  Another day another battle.  Later.

Made the front page of the Juneau Empire.  When will people ever learn just to answer my questions and not ignor me.  Oh well it does not look good for the contractor now.  The mayor's slogan is look local first.  These morons ordered for outside of Juneau and that's what's taking so long to get the work finished.  Now we wre looking at the end of August.  Summer will be over and i will not have enjoied any of the sights, sounds and smells of tourist season.  More later.

Saw the fireworks from my apartment, like last year only the place is still gutted and my new has been stripped of 3 of its burners from being left in the hall unattended for 2 months.  So pissed it is taking so long and it does not look like we will be back in this month either cause they can't start building the cabinets until mid July.  Thinking about filing a consumer complaint against the construction company.  The amount iof damage to the 5 apartments involved should not take this long.  I feel so displaced.  I can't even find relaxer for my hair since Wal-mart went out of bidnes.  Oh well, just a update.

Tuesday, June 21, 2016

Went to the doctor today and got a clean bill of health.  She was very impressed with my walking and I have lost 3 more pounds.  Still not back in my apartment yet and it is getting very frustrating.  It's almost the fourth of July and i don't want to miss the fireworks outside my window.  Don't care much for crowds anymore so I really don't want to go downtown for that.  Anyway, went to pride week and they had a bonfire at Auk Recand the view was amazing.  the sky was clear and the tide was coming in.  I even took a hike.  Met alot of nice people and convinced a guy from California to move here.  Go figure.  Sorry about the lack of pictures but this computer at the shelter only allows you to do so much.  Surprised I'm able to get into my blog.  Anyway, hugs and kisses to everyone.

Tuesday, June 7, 2016

Hello everyone, we are still at St. Vincent's with no updates as to when we will be back in.  If we miss the fourth of July fireworks, I am going to be pissed.  Anyway, i am still walking so much better and enjoying the weather more.  Went to the lake and did not catch anything.  Got buzzed by 3 eagles who were being chased by alot of ravens.  Going to another location where they bite better.  Doubt if anyone is reading this but this is the update.  Later.

Well I'm at the library printing off my boarding pass for my trip to Anchorage tomorrow.  I hope these injections work cause I'm very tired of being in pain.  And I really need to be able to walk once Sam leaves.  I will have to be able to walk Roxy . Wish me luck even though I know no one will see this before I get back.

Made it back to Juneau only to find out I had been moved into a hotel due to the fire.  Our apartment was not that damaged and they are estimating our stay at the hotel to be the end of June.  Not happening.  If I can't cook my blood work gets all screwed up and there is only one burner in the room so I am going to strongly suggest they do our apartment first. Went to a car show today, saw some good stuff but can't share it because our computer is in storage.  Currently at the library so I can,t download or store stuff to transfer to my blog.  Hang in there for more pictures as soon as they let us back in.

Sunday, April 10, 2016

What a day.  I rode my bike, planted my herb garden, and our building caught on fire. No one was hurt, the fire department was there in an instant.  Glad I insisted on wood floors, the flooding from the hoses was massive but here's a tip if it ever happens to you and you have no shop vac.  Adult diapers suck the water up with lightning speed and our floors were dry in no time.  After all the hub bub we ordered Chinese and relaxed.  Just another Sunday in Juneau.  LOL.

Wednesday, April 6, 2016

Not that anyone will read this but, I will be in Columbus for a visit on April 14th thru April 18th.  Hopefully, I will get to see everyone.  I have missed my peeps and looking forward to catching up.

Once again, after sending out 24 "new stuff on the blog" notices, only 3 people responded.  Obviously, I am wasting my time so this is the last entry on my blog.  Guess you will have to call or come here to find out what I'm doing.  Sorry to those who consistently responded.

Okay see if you can find me in the pictures.  Welcome to "Where's Cecil".

Friday, March 11, 2016

Okay, only two comments after my last posting.  WTF.  I'm doing this so you guys know how I am and what I'm doing and I'm getting no feedback except from two people and that sucks.  So last chance.  This weekend I'm going to take a bunch of pictures and play a new game to see if anyone reads it.  If not I'm done and the blog is gone.  Remember the Where's Waldo books.  Well I'm going to do Where's Cecil.  I am going to text everyone when I load the pictures and if no comments, that's it.  Hope you check soon.

Well it's not spring yet but tell that ti the bears who are already waking up early.  The sun has been out and the scenery is so beautiful.  I flew to Anchorage last week and got some amazing shots of the mountains, the moon and the smallest airports I have ever seem.  It's getting close to festival time and I miss Columbus.  There is stuff to do here too but not like there.  Enjoy the photos.

Thursday, February 18, 2016

Hey everyone, thanks for the comments and glad you liked the pictures.  I am having a great time here and things are going well.  I hope to see everyone in September.  The news I could not mention until after Christmas was that Larry was going to pop the question and Gina said yes.  Looks like the family is expanding more.  Take care and I will post more pictures in the spring when the whales come back and the bears wake up and the fishing starts.

Getting less comments than ever.  Not sure if anyone is even reading my blog anymore.  I had a great day today.  It was sunny on one side of the channel and cloudy on the other.  Went to the beach and took pictures, then had brunch with a new friend.  She has a cat with David Bowie eyes.  One blue and one brown.  Never seen that in a cat before.  We had smoked salmon on bagels with cream cheese, tomato and onion.  Then Chessica and I drove around taking more pictures at Auke Bay, more water falls along the road, the glacier and anything else we could find.  Still cooking great meals and loving this place.  I see the neurosurgeon next month about my back and will probably have the procedure done in March after my birthday.  Enjoy the pictures and send comments either to the blog, my phone or my email.  Otherwise I may have to take it down.  That big yellow building on the hill is our apartment.  Now you see why we have such a nice view of the fireworks, the channel and parades without fighting the masses.  Keep in touch and let me know what you think.

Saturday, January 16, 2016

Hey now that it is a new year, guess I better get back to blogging.  We had a nice Christmas and New Year.  Got wonderful news from Larry.  It was the video of him proposing to Gina.  OMG Right.  I'm getting another daughter.  Sweet.  We are having another mild winter Which I'm sure it's a shock to all those who thought I would freeze.  Jokes on you.  Our weather is better than Ohio:p  It rarely drops below 30.  Sam and Roxy love it here almost as much as me.  It is more than I dreamed it would be.  Added some pictures.  The first one is from Mount Robert's view of the channel.  Then there is Roxy chilling on the couch.  Then there is this kid who is so beautiful she should be locked up for her own protection.  Yes that's Savannah at age 15.  Lordy, Hillary is going to have her hands full again.  he rest are rainbows, sky , and mountains.  All breath taking.  talk later.
